About the Test

Proper fit testing saves lives, and should be conducted for users of all disposable facepieces and half-face masks where the equipment is intended to form a seal to the face.

What Does the Test Involve?

The wearer is asked to perform a series of different exercises that are intended to replicate movements carried out in a normal working day, while the seal of the mask is checked.

Each test takes approximately 20 minutes per person to complete, including guidance on fitting the mask and carrying out a seal check on site.

What Information Do We Need?

Prior to visiting your premises to carry out fit testing with your personnel, we will ask you for a number of small details. These help us to guarantee a quality service.

  • Number of people requiring the test
  • Type(s) of RPE required
  • Any desired brands/models of RPE
  • Main point of contact for the testing

Wearer Responsibilities

Before your test, each wearer should:

  • Ensure you are clean shaven
  • Don't drink or eat for at least 1 hour before the test
  • Don't smoke or vape for at least 1 hour before the test
  • Notify our tester of any existing heart/lung problems
  • Notify our tester of any previous bone breaks affecting the facial area
